Our Policy
The Empire Times believes strongly in fair journalism. Any individual, organisation, or business that is the subject of critical or potentially damaging coverage has the right to respond before publication.
Before Publication
- Reporters contact relevant parties before publishing critical coverage
- A reasonable deadline is given for response — typically 24 to 48 hours
- Responses that are provided in time are included in the original story
- If no response is received, we note that in the article
After Publication
If you believe you were not given adequate opportunity to respond before a story was published, or if you wish to provide additional context, please contact us. We will consider publishing your response as a follow-up, an addendum to the original article, or a correction where appropriate.
