Editorial Policy
Last updated: January 2026
Our Commitment
The Empire Times is committed to producing accurate, fair, and independent journalism. Our editorial decisions are guided solely by newsworthiness and public interest — never by commercial, political, or personal considerations.
Accuracy & Verification
We verify all information before publication using multiple independent sources. When a story cannot be fully verified, we clearly state what is confirmed and what remains unclear.
- Stories must be verified by at least two independent sources
- All statistics and data are traced to primary sources
- Claims from individuals are corroborated where possible
- We correct errors promptly and transparently
Fairness & Balance
We present multiple perspectives on contested issues and give subjects of coverage a fair opportunity to respond before publication.
Independence
Our editorial team operates independently from our advertising and commercial departments. Advertisers have no influence over editorial content, story selection, or coverage decisions.
Conflicts of Interest
Journalists and editors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest to their editors. Staff are prohibited from writing about topics in which they have a financial or personal stake.
Anonymous Sources
We use anonymous sources only when the information is significant, cannot be obtained any other way, and the source has a credible reason for remaining anonymous. We require at least one editor to know the identity of anonymous sources.
Editorial Complaints
Concerns about editorial content can be directed to our editorial team at editorial@The Empire Times.com. We aim to respond within five business days.
