Our Commitment to Accuracy
The Empire Times takes accuracy seriously. When we make mistakes — factual errors, typos, or misleading framing — we correct them promptly, transparently, and without alteration of the original text without notice.
Types of Corrections
- Minor corrections — Spelling or grammatical fixes that don't affect meaning are corrected silently.
- Factual corrections — Changes to facts, figures, names, or dates are noted with a correction notice at the top of the article.
- Significant corrections — Substantial errors that affect the story's meaning include a detailed correction note explaining what was wrong and what the correct information is.
- Retractions — Articles that cannot be corrected and were published in error are retracted with a clear explanation.
How We Handle Corrections
- Corrections are made as soon as an error is confirmed
- Correction notices are added to the top of the affected article
- Original erroneous text is not deleted — it is struck through so readers can see what changed
- Significant corrections are noted in our corrections log
